Zambelli would have presented Hacker to Bolsonaro to talk about ballot box, says Cid

The Federal Supreme Court (STF) authorized this Monday (4) the removal of the electronic ankle bracelet from Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid, Jair Bolsonaro’s former aide-de-camp, sentenced to two years in prison for his involvement in the 2022 coup plot.

The surveillance measure had been in force since 2023, when the soldier signed a plea bargain agreement with the Federal Police. The withdrawal hearing was held on Monday afternoon, in the office of minister Alexandre de Moraes, rapporteur of the case.

According to the defense, Cid had already fully complied with the measures imposed by the agreement and the open regime, which is why the process was closed. The STF formally counted the period in which he was subject to restrictions, including the use of an ankle bracelet.

The only formal collaborator in the investigations, Cid gave statements that resulted in the preventive arrest of retired general Braga Netto and contributed to the PGR’s complaint that led to the conviction of Bolsonaro and seven allies.

The soldier left the Supreme Court building through the garage, without speaking to journalists.
