Flávio Bolsonaro calls the STF trial a ‘farce’ and accuses Moraes of ‘revenge’
After the First Panel of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) unanimously rejected, this Friday, the 7th, the defense appeal of former president Jair Bolsonaro, senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) classified the occasion as a “farce”.
“A farce in which the final result is already known before the process even begins, not because of what is in the case, but because of who is judging,” the former president’s son told CNN Brasil. The decision maintains the former president’s sentence of 27 years and 3 months.

Flávio also stated that the result does not surprise him and that he awaits “common sense” regarding his father’s arrest, remembering that in the country there is no specific prison for former presidents.
“Since he was convicted without having done absolutely anything wrong, the least that can be expected is common sense and that he stays at home,” he declared.
The senator accused minister Alexandre de Moraes of acting out of “personal and insane revenge” against his father and claimed that, if it were former president Michel Temer (MDB) responsible for Moraes’ current position, the Supreme Court’s treatment would be different.
“This is a personal and insane revenge, without any justification. If it were with former president Temer, he would never do what he is doing with Bolsonaro. It is public and well-known that Bolsonaro needs permanent and, sometimes, immediate medical care. As everyone knows this, including the dictator, I can only conclude that he wants Bolsonaro to die”, stated Flávio.
Flávio added that “they will never silence Bolsonaro”. “Condemning the greatest leader of the right by the big hand, in an illegal process in which the evidence attests to his innocence, is the burial of democracy”.
The First Panel of the STF began and concluded today, in the virtual plenary, the analysis of the first appeals of the former president and six other defendants in the crucial core of the coup plan: Walter Braga Netto (former Minister of Defense and Civil House), Anderson Torres (former Minister of Justice), Almir Garnier (former commander of the Navy), Augusto Heleno (former Minister of the Institutional Security Office), Paulo Sérgio Nogueira (former Minister of Defense) and Alexandre Ramagem (deputy federal and former director of Abin).
Only Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid, who signed a plea bargain agreement, waived his right to appeal.
