Israel receives remains of soldier killed in Gaza in 2014
Coffin was handed over by Hamas to the Red Cross. Remains were taken to Israel, which carried out identification tests.

Lt. Hadar Goldin was killed and abducted by Hamas during Operation Protective Edge in 2014.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) shares the family’s grief, continues to invest all efforts in the return of the deceased abductees and is preparing to continue the implementation of the agreement. Hamas is obliged to fulfill its side of the agreement and make all necessary efforts to return the deceased hostages to their families and provide them with a dignified burial.

This is the 24th body of a hostage handed over by Hamas since the start of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. “Israel received, through the Red Cross, the coffin of a deceased hostage who was transferred to IDF (Israel Defense Forces) and Shin Bet agents inside the Gaza Strip,” the prime minister’s office said.
In return, Israel freed nearly 2,000 Palestinian convicts and war detainees. Additionally, Netanyahu’s government returned the remains of 300 militants held by Israel.
