Nunes on Kanye West: “Whoever supports Nazism will not perform in SP”
The mayor of São Paulo, Ricardo Nunes (MDB), stated this Monday (10) that he will not allow performances by artists who support Nazism in public places. The statement was a response to negotiations to hold a Kanye West concert, scheduled for November 29th in the capital of São Paulo.
“In city hall’s public equipment, no one who supports Nazism will play or sing a single word. We do not accept and will do everything necessary to prevent any activity of this type in São Paulo”, said the mayor during an interview with journalists.

The North American rapper’s show was initially scheduled for the Autódromo de Interlagos, but, according to the company responsible for production, the location will be changed.
The decision comes amid negative repercussions over statements by Kanye West, who, since 2022, has been the target of criticism for anti-Semitic comments and for having praised Adolf Hitler in interviews.
The statements led to the breaking of contracts with major brands and the temporary blocking of their social media accounts. There is still no confirmation on the new location of the event, but the city hall reinforced that no space under municipal management can be used.
