Trump administration classifies European anti-fascist groups as ‘terrorists’

“The Department of State is committed to identifying and dismantling these terrorist networks that conspire to ruthlessly suppress the will of the people and violently undermine the very foundations of the United States and Western civilization,” he said.

According to the Trump administration, his administration promises to announce new sanctions against other groups around the world.

In September, the US president signed an executive order designating Antifa as a “domestic terrorist organization.” A few days later, he issued the Presidential National Security Memorandum on Combating Domestic Terrorism and Organized Political Violence.

The document directs federal agencies to prioritize investigations into a range of identities and ideologies that it describes as falling under the “umbrella of self-styled ‘anti-fascism’.”

These include “anti-Americanism, anti-capitalism, and anti-Christianity; support for the overthrow of the United States government; extremism on migration, race, and gender; and hostility toward those who hold traditional American views on family, religion, and morality.”

This list allows unionists, critics of Christianity, pro-immigration groups, anti-ICE protesters and racial and transgender justice activists to be placed on the Justice’s radar, as well as anyone who holds views that the government considers “anti-American.”
