Aécio Neves returns to command of the PSDB and promises reconstruction for 2026
Federal deputy Aécio Neves will return to the national presidency of the PSDB on November 27, almost a decade after having led the party between 2013 and 2017.
The Minas Gerais native will replace Marconi Perillo, who is expected to run for government of Goiás in 2026 and will now direct the Teotônio Vilela Institute.
With the acronym reduced and few national leaders remaining, Aécio intends to recover the space lost in recent years. He has defended the resumption of historical flags, such as fiscal responsibility and modernization of public management, to rebuild Tucana identity.

The goal set for 2026 is ambitious: to expand the federal bench from the current 13 deputies to around 30.
Aécio himself is still evaluating his electoral future and does not rule out seeking a new term in the Chamber, running for the Senate again or even running for government of Minas Gerais.
The deputy, one of the few names with national projection who remained in the PSDB, will be confirmed in the role after the election of the party’s national directory.
