Trump removes part of the ‘Eduardo Bolsonaro Tariff’ and throws Jair into the sea

The congressman stated today that Trump changed the tariffs to contain food inflation, which affects products such as meat and coffee, worried about the mid-term legislative elections next year. Don’t say! Do you really swear? How did no one notice this before?

It is obvious that this had a bearing, as reality imposed itself. Many people warned Trump that this was the reason why the tariff was a shot in the foot. Since then, Brazilian diplomacy has worked out a way out with the US government, with the help of businesspeople from here and there, showing that it was advantageous for the US to revoke the surcharge.

Negotiations will still be long, as there are many other products, and setbacks may occur.

Trump also wants to prevent Brazil and the South American subcontinent from getting even closer to China, expand access to raw materials that the Chinese denied access to (such as rare earths), improve export quotas for their products, such as corn ethanol, to facilitate business for large North American companies in Brazil.

Of course, he would love to have someone who acts as his pet, like Javier Milei, having breakfast at Palácio do Alvorada from 2027. And, certainly, he can use his big techs and the CIA to help with the job. But Brazil did not bow to the blackmail imposed by the White House (as some people here wanted) and, despite the economic and social losses, it is moving forward.

Trump’s negotiations will benefit the United States and, in the end, he will be able to claim victory as he likes to do. Lula will also say that he won, as he is resolving the economic issue (the Magnitsky law sanctions against Alexandre de Moraes and his family will take longer to be resolved). For now, however, the big loser is the Bolsonaro clan, which has a son self-exiled for his own mistakes and a patriarch who should go to jail at some point in the next 15 days.
