‘Towards normalization of trade’
Businesspeople celebrated Donald Trump’s decision to suspend part of the tariffs charged against Brazil and point out that the measure could mean progress towards “normalization” of trade relations between the two countries.
The private sector, however, asks that dialogues between the two diplomacies be intensified so that the rest of the barriers can also be suspended.
“Amcham Brasil evaluates as very positive the decision announced today by the United States government to eliminate the 40% surcharges, in force since August, on a set of Brazilian products — including relevant items on the export agenda for the American market, such as coffee, beef, fruits and essential oils”, stated the Brazil USA Chamber of Commerce.
