PF launches operation in Fortaleza and Natal against amendment deviations
This Friday morning (28), the Federal Police launched an operation investigating suspected misappropriation of resources and irregularities in paving contracts financed by parliamentary amendments and signed by the National Department of Works Against Drought.
The investigation takes place after audits by the General Comptroller of the Union identified signs of overpricing, partial or non-existent execution, fraudulent measurements and cases of undue favoritism by contracted companies. With the contracts, the Federal Police investigation found evidence that public servants and businesspeople joined together “in a possible criminal organization aimed at embezzling public resources”.
