PT launches booklet with guidelines for influencers and pro-Lula digital activism

The Workers’ Party (PT) launched this Monday, the 29th, a booklet aimed at influencers and digital activists linked to the party’s activism. The material brings together legal guidance for those who work in political communication on social networks in defense of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT).

According to the acronym, the initiative arose from a demand presented by the influencers themselves, who reported recurring doubts and concrete experiences, including legal proceedings faced due to publications on digital platforms. The manual has more than 90 pages and was designed to reduce legal risks in online political activity.

One of the main warnings in the document is the use of terms such as “fascist”, “genocidal” and “corrupt”. According to the booklet, these expressions should only be used when there is a judicial conviction. Outside of this context, the influencer may be the target of legal action.

The manual also dedicates a specific chapter to video publishing. The guideline is for the activist to assess whether the content was recorded in a public environment, whether it exposes a community or a specific individual and whether there are children, vulnerable people or embarrassing situations present.

The booklet recommends that the videos focus on the political fact, and not aspects of the personal life of those who appear in the images, in addition to highlighting the importance of being able to prove the context of political criticism in the case of judicial questioning.

The text also advises that influencers keep records of publications, such as links, original videos and screenshots, as a way of protecting themselves legally.
