Bolsonaro undergoes new procedure to treat hiccups, says Michelle
Former president Jair Bolsonaro was sent to the operating room for a new procedure to treat persistent hiccups, his wife, Michelle Bolsonaro, said in a post on a social network.
“My love developed hiccups at 10am, which have not stopped to date. Given this, the medical team opted to perform a reinforcement of the phrenic nerve block. He has just been taken to the surgical center”, said Michelle in the publication, made at around 2:40 pm.
Bolsonaro’s hiccups returned after procedures, says Carlos Bolsonaro
In a post on the social network X, Carlos also stated that his father started treatment for sleep apnea last night and is in the adaptation phase.
Bolsonaro, 70 years old, underwent surgery last Thursday to treat a bilateral inguinal hernia. After the initial surgery, he needed to undergo two procedures to treat persistent hiccups.
The former president received authorization from the Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Alexandre de Moraes to leave the Federal Police Superintendency in Brasília, where he is serving a prison sentence for an attempted coup, to be admitted to a hospital in Brasília.
