Bolsonaro’s defense makes a new request for house arrest to the STF
Lawyer Paulo Cunha Bueno, who represents Jair Bolsonaro (PL) at the Federal Supreme Court (STF), said that the defense has just filed a new request for house arrest for the former president.
The lawyer highlighted the “worsening” of the former president’s medical condition and compared his situation to that of former president Fernando Collor de Mello, who obtained authorization from minister Alexandre de Moraes to serve his sentence at home due to his health condition.

- Bolsonaro should be released from hospital on Thursday, says medical team
Bolsonaro has been admitted to a hospital in Brasília since December 24th for medical procedures and is scheduled to be discharged this Thursday, the 1st. Earlier, Bolsonaro’s doctors, Brasil Caiado and Cláudio Birolini, stated that the politician improved with the surgical procedures and that he had greater control over his hiccups, even though they have not stopped.
“Following the surgical interventions to which President Bolsonaro was subjected in recent days and in view of the new health condition diagnosed by the medical team – emphasizing the risks of worsening the current condition due to the lack of adequate care –, the defense has just completed the protocol for a new request for house arrest, considering, at the same time, the update and worsening of the medical condition and the paradigm of the recent granting of the same benefit now claimed – by the same reporting Minister –, to President Fernando Collor de Mello, currently kept in home custody following the diagnosis of sleep apnea,” said Bueno in a publication on X.
