Lewandowski’s last act: Justice requests investigation against Flávio Bolsonaro from the PF
The Ministry of Justice forwarded to the Federal Police (PF) the request by federal deputy Dandara Tonantzin (PT-MG) that the corporation investigate senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) for publications that associate President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) with Venezuelan Nicolás Maduro. The sending was one of Ricardo Lewandowski’s last actions at the head of the department, whose dismissal was made official by the PT member on Friday.
In the document, the deputy denounces an alleged practice of crimes against Lula’s honor by citing a post by the PL pre-candidate for the Presidency in which he states that Maduro would denounce the PT member, which would cause the end of the “Foro de São Paulo”. The PT member also alleges that Flávio committed the crimes of slander, defamation and insult by associating Lula and the group that brings together left-wing parties in Latin America with crimes such as international drug and weapons trafficking, in addition to money laundering.
The deputy states in the complaint that Flávio could not enjoy the protection of parliamentary immunity because, in her view, the content of the publication is not linked to the typical exercise of the mandate.
GLOBO contacted the senator, but received no response until the report was published. The PF, in turn, said that it “does not confirm or comment on any ongoing investigations”.

Lewandowski’s departure from the government was formalized in a letter delivered to Lula on Thursday. In it, the minister told the president that personal and family reasons led him to ask to leave the government.
“I use this to respectfully present my request for dismissal from the position of Minister of State for Justice and Public Security, for personal and family reasons, as of January 9, 2026,” the letter states.
Petrobras’ general attorney, Wellington Cesar Lima e Silva, is considered the most likely to take on the role. In the words of an assistant to the president, “everything indicates” that he will take the position. Since Friday, the ministry has been led on an interim basis by Manoel Carlos de Almeida Neto, executive secretary under Lewandowski.
