Motta wants the Mercosur-EU agreement to be processed “as quickly as possible” in the Chamber
The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB), celebrated on social media the signing of the trade agreement between Mercosur and the European Union (EU) this Saturday, 17th, in Asunción, Paraguay.
“With this initiative, we prove the strength of diplomacy, dialogue and cooperation, which must always be the pillars of relations between countries. By creating one of the largest free trade areas in the world, the Agreement opens up opportunities for more growth, more income, more jobs, more investments and more exchanges of new technologies”, wrote Motta, in X.

The president of the Chamber also stated that the House will speed up the processing of the agreement. “We intend to process the agreement as quickly as possible in the Chamber of Deputies, so that it can come into force as soon as possible and, thus, begin to share its fruits with all participants”, said Motta.
The agreement between Mercosur and the EU has the possibility of bilateral validity if approved and ratified by the European Parliament and the National Congress.
