'Home Alone' and 'Beetlejuice' actress Catherine O'Hara dies at 71

Catherine O’Hara, a comedian known mainly for her roles in “Home Alone”, “Schitt’s Creek” and “Beetlejuice”, as well as a member of the influential Canadian sketch series “SCTV”, has died at the age of 71.

The death was confirmed by a representative from the office of her manager, Marc Gurvitz, who did not provide the cause or when or where she died.

O’Hara began his career at Second City, the famous improv comedy company that gave rise to “SCTV” and his first television role. She starred alongside other big names in comedy, such as John Candy, Rick Moranis and Eugene Levy, who would later play her husband in “Schitt’s Creek”.

Opportunity with security!

Most recently, she appeared in “The Studio”, an Apple TV production. In 2017, she was awarded the Order of Canada, one of the country’s highest honors.
