PT expresses support for Cuba in the face of US threats and defends the island’s sovereignty
The Workers’ Party (PT) published this Saturday (31) a public note in which it expresses its “full support for the Republic of Cuba” in the face of what it classifies as threats suffered by the Donald Trump administration and reaffirms its commitment to the sovereignty and self-determination of the Cuban people.
In the note, the PT recalls the capture of the president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, and states that the United States would be advancing even further into Latin America, now targeting the Cuban people and their Revolution. The party highlights that Cuba has faced a unilateral blockade for more than 65 years, which, according to the PT, prevents the country’s full development.

Lula: in 2025 we will have lower unemployment with an increase in income for the population
Data from the Continuous National Household Sample Survey (Pnad Contínua), released yesterday, indicate that the unemployment rate in Brazil fell to 5.1% in the quarter ending in December 2025
The party also accuses Trump of wanting to “totally suffocate the Cuban economy” by imposing new blockades and preventing fuel from reaching the island, preventing electricity generation and transport, making Cubans’ lives even more unviable. This amounts to preventing humanitarian trade with the island, which guarantees the minimum living conditions for its people.
Opportunity with security!
The PT defends the end of the blockade against Cuba and its total reinsertion into world politics and economy. “We will continue to defend the Cuban people, their right to self-determination, their sovereignty, the Cuban Revolution and its ideals of social justice.”
