Mendonça and PF delegates agree on an investigation schedule for the Master case
New rapporteur of the Banco Master case, the minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) André Mendonça agreed this Friday with the Federal Police (PF) to deliver a report on the progress of the investigations that until yesterday were being reported by minister Dias Toffoli.
The topic was discussed in an earlier meeting between the minister and members of the PF. The meeting lasted approximately two and a half hours.

The STF reported that the meeting was to “align procedures” and for the minister to understand the phase of the investigation, which is already underway.

The meeting was attended by Mendonça and members of his office team and some PF delegates, such as delegate Janaína Palazzo, responsible for interrogating the investigation into Banco Master.
According to the minister’s assistants, the meeting takes place semi-virtually, as the STF minister is in São Paulo. The idea is to listen to the people who have been carrying out the investigations to understand the current stage of the case, in addition to being able to prepare for what will happen from now on.
Mendonça was selected this Thursday as the new rapporteur for the case involving the Master, after Dias Toffoli decided to leave the post amid the crisis opened by the publication of the Federal Police (PF) report that mentions his name.
As O GLOBO showed, behind the scenes, Mendonça’s interlocutors claim that the watchword is “serenity and responsibility”.
The expectation is that the minister will not make public statements at this first stage and will conduct the case with discretion, avoiding expanding the turmoil that marked the previous phase of the process. According to reports made to GLOBO, the minister must analyze a possible transfer of the investigations to the First Instance, but must initially maintain the STF case.

The redistribution took place by lot, as provided for in the Court’s internal regulations. Toffoli’s decision was taken after a meeting called by the president of the STF, Edson Fachin, to present to colleagues the content of the PF report with data extracted from the cell phone of Daniel Vorcaro, owner of Banco Master.
This is the second time that an investigation initially reported by Toffoli has passed into the hands of Mendonça. In 2025, he was also selected as rapporteur for the investigation into undue discounts on benefits from the National Social Security Institute (INSS), which was being conducted by Toffoli.
