He also cited the possibility of suspicion for him to continue as the case’s rapporteur.
The reaction occurs after the announcement, on the website Power360of literal excerpts from dialogues attributed to the secret session held on Thursday (12), when the Supreme Court decided to remove Toffoli from reporting on the Banco Master case. The publication went live at 1:28 am this Friday (13).
According to SheetSTF ministers assess that the conversation may have been recorded clandestinely. Some magistrates would have forwarded the report to Toffoli pointing out the existence of the alleged recording.
According to reports heard by the newspaper, members of the Court classified the episode as unprecedented and reported discomfort with the disclosure of the dialogues. They also stated that the published excerpts would only include parts favorable to the minister, without reflecting the entire debate held in the reserved session.
