PL and Union leaders will try to block voting on a 6×1 scale for fear of defeat
Valdemar da Costa Neto and Antônio Rueda, presidents of PL and União Brasil, admitted that the chance of approval of the end of the 6×1 scale in the National Congress is high and stated that they will try to prevent the issue from being voted on in the Plenary before the election. When they took a stance against the project during a dinner promoted by Esfera Brasil, on Monday night (23), in São Paulo, the two were applauded by businesspeople. Among the guests were representatives from brands such as Google, iFood, JHSF, from the retail sectors and others.
Rueda stated that he has a “personal position” against the project because it “will burden the productive sector and generate inflation”, but said that it is “very difficult” for deputies and senators from his party who are seeking re-election to vote against the proposal because it would cost them votes.

Centrão and right-wing parliamentarians put pressure on Congress presidents for organizing a veto session on the project that could reduce Jair Bolsonaro’s sentence and those convicted of the coup acts
— It’s a very cruel position for anyone running for re-election or another term. We have to be intelligent and ensure that this vote goes to the Plenary, because if it goes to the Plenary, it will be overwhelming (the approval). It is a very painful issue for the production sector, I have a personal position that I will defend with my bench. This is going to be a mistake, consumers are the ones who are going to pay this bill. I argue that we can build a “belly” (delayed) in the CCJ (Constitution and Justice Committee of the Chamber of Deputies). I defend a position here, together with Valdemar, in which we can build a unit within the commissions, mainly in the CCJ, so that we can “belly” this — he said.
Opportunity with security!
Valdemar also commented on the project, stating that “if the comrade votes against it, it will be very difficult for him” and reinforcing the need for “pressure” from the business sector in Congress.
– We have to work to not let people vote at all, ask for pressure from businesspeople on their deputies, so that we can hold it back so we don’t vote. If you put this on the agenda, it is very difficult not to pass, I have to be honest with you — said the president of the PL — What do we intend to do? Working with the president of the Chamber and holding this in the CCJ, that’s where the war will be.
President Lula (PT) is working to vote on the proposal as soon as possible, and has at his side the president of the Chamber, Hugo Motta, who signaled that he will give priority to the issue. In a video published this Sunday, Motta said that the CCJ rapporteur for the proposed amendment to the Constitution (PEC) on the end of the 6×1 scale will be appointed at the beginning of this week. The idea is to vote to bring together in the PEC the texts presented by congresswoman Érika Hilton (PSOL-SP) and congressman Reginaldo Lopes (PT-MG), who defend changes to the Constitution to allow for a reduction in the weekly working hours, with the revision of the current model from six days of work to one day of rest.
