At the time, Costa Neto had mentioned Zema when asked what his name would be as vice-president of senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), pre-candidate for the presidency of the Republic.
Next, he was asked about the position of the governor of Minas Gerais on not giving up his candidacy for Palácio do Planalto.

Afterwards, Costa Neto said he wants to fight for the votes of Minas Gerais in favor of Flávio. “We are not in a position to support a candidate who has another candidate for the presidency of the Republic, because we cannot lose a vote like in the last election, when we lost 1 million votes,” he said.
In the interview, Valdemar also mentioned senator Tereza Cristina (PP-MS) as a name for Flávio’s vice-presidency.
