INSS CPMI will use a safe room to store data from Vorcaro’s cell phone
The president of the INSS CPMI, Carlos Viana (Podemos-MG), ordered that the documents extracted by the Federal Police from the cell phone of the owner of Banco Master, Daniel Vorcaro, and delivered to the commission be stored in a safe room. On the afternoon of this Thursday, the 12th, parliamentarians received a statement with instructions for using the space, which is monitored 24 hours a day.
Only deputies and senators who are part of the collegiate and an advisor from each of them will have access to the site. From this Friday, the 13th, the digitized files can be accessed through seven computers, from 9am to 9pm.

The space in the Senate will also be open on Saturdays, but at reduced hours, from 9am to 5pm. Thus, advisors appointed by parliamentarians will be able to access the site on weekends, while their bosses return to their electoral strongholds. They can enter unaccompanied, as long as they follow safety rules.
A metal detection gate has been installed to ensure that people do not enter with cell phones or other electronic devices with which documents can be photographed.
“Entry is only permitted with paper and pen. Devices that are taken, such as cell phones, will be placed in a sealed envelope and removed at the end of access to the room”, says Viana’s statement.
The president of CPMI also emphasizes that everyone must follow the rules to avoid information leaks. “Everyone must go through a metal detector, including parliamentarians, without exception,” he states.
The leak of data related to Vorcaro led to members of the CPMI being identified as violating the confidentiality of the documents.
The safe room had not yet been used by the INSS CPMI, which is scheduled to finish its work on the 28th. The space was used in other commissions, such as the one that investigated the actions of former president Jair Bolsonaro’s government during the Covid-19 pandemic and the 8th of January. The room stores the content collected by various parliamentary commissions of inquiry.
“Surveillance, the Legislative Police Secretariat and the Coordination of the CPIs are guided and authorized to enforce this rule, preventing parliamentarians who refuse to go through the metal detector from entering the room”, says Viana in the statement.
