Bolsonaro is admitted to the ICU with suspected bronchopneumonia

Former president Jair Bolsonaro was admitted this Friday (13) to the DF Star hospital, in Brasília, after showing symptoms associated with a lung infection. According to medical information sent to the Federal Supreme Court (STF), the clinical picture raised suspicion of acute bronchopneumonia.

According to the hospital report, Bolsonaro was admitted to the unit with signs of bronchopneumonia of probable aspiration origin. After the initial assessment, the medical team began treatment with broad-spectrum antibiotics.

At the moment, the former president remains hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where he is being monitored while doctors monitor the evolution of his clinical condition.

The turnaround occurred after Itamaraty informed Moraes that Beattie’s visa was granted exclusively for participation in the Brazil-US Critical Minerals Forum

“The patient Jair Messias Bolsonaro, date of birth 03/21/1955, was admitted to this unit with a suspected case of acute bronchopneumonia of probable aspiration origin (relapse). At the moment, clinical treatment with broad-spectrum antibiotic therapy was initiated and he was in the intensive care unit for clinical monitoring”, states the report sent to the STF.

According to the medical bulletin, Bolsonaro should remain hospitalized for continued treatment and for periodic reevaluations by the team responsible for monitoring the case.

Before the release of the medical bulletin, senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) reported on social media that the father had been taken to the hospital after experiencing fever, chills and episodes of vomiting during the early hours of the morning.
