PT President says the party has to be anti-system and calls for militancy
The president of the Workers’ Party (PT), Edinho Silva, stated this Monday, the 16th, that the party “has to be” anti-system and called on the militants not to back down in the streets or on social media. The statement was made in a video published on his Instagram profile.
“The PT is the party of change and we will continue fighting. And the PT has to be the anti-system party and the party of change. We are the party of change. We have to represent change. And we cannot be cornered either on the street or on the internet. The PT is the party of change and we will continue fighting so that we can transform Brazil”, said Edinho Silva in the recording.

This is not the first time the leader has used the term. On February 5, in the party’s 46th anniversary, Edinho Silva had already advocated that the PT present itself as anti-system in the 2026 elections, arguing that the population is disappointed with representative democracy.
The statements coincide with the beginning of the party’s electoral mobilization. THE Estadão/Broadcast found that Haddad should launch his candidacy for Palácio dos Bandeirantes during the 17th Federative Caravan, scheduled for the 19th and 20th in the capital of São Paulo, with the presence of President Lula and government ministers. The announcement should take place on the 19th, the date on which Lula has confirmed participation in the event.
