End of the 6×1 scale will be on the Chamber’s agenda in 2026, says Hugo Motta

The Public Ministry at the Federal Audit Court (MPTCU) presented a request for a precautionary measure so that the TCU investigates a loan of around R$22 million granted by Banco Master to businesswoman Bianca Medeiros, sister-in-law of the federal deputy and president of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB). The information is from Folha de S. Paulo.

The request asks the TCU to determine whether the loan involved, in any way, public resources, subsidies or official guarantees, in addition to evaluating the Central Bank’s performance in supervising the financial institution and the amount released.

The credit was contracted in March 2024 for the purchase of land measuring more than 400 hectares in João Pessoa (PB), where the construction of a real estate project with the installation of a cement factory is planned.

According to the MPTCU, although there is no confirmation of the use of public funds, the elements already raised raise doubts about the possible use of financing lines or concession of credit favored due to the family relationship with Motta.

The representation also requests that the TCU order Banco Master to preserve all documents related to the operation. The Central Bank was also asked to monitor the case and inform the Court of any measures adopted.

In the document, Deputy Attorney General Lucas Rocha Furtado asks that, if irregularities are identified, the TCU holds those involved responsible and adopts measures to compensate for any damages to public coffers.

In a note sent to SheetBianca Medeiros stated that her family has been involved in the Paraíba business community for decades, with investments in different sectors of the economy, and that the credit contract investigated was concluded under “usual market conditions, through fiduciary guarantees compatible with the value of the operation”.

“The choice of the financial institution resulted exclusively from business and operational conditions presented at the time of contracting,” he stated.
