Lula: The time is coming for us to start knowing who does or doesn’t do
President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) said this Friday, the 20th, that “the time is coming” for Brazilian society to analyze “who plays on their cell phone who tells the truth and who delivers and who doesn’t”.
“The time is coming for us to begin to learn a little about the history of our country, to know who is who in this country, to know who does things and who doesn’t, who lies and who doesn’t lie, who plays on their cell phone who tells the truth and who delivers and who doesn’t,” he declared.

The president repeated his speech against former president Jair Bolsonaro and said that the people “cannot take the risk of electing a person who says that whoever takes the vaccine will become gay”. He also said that “what we are doing is just the beginning, there is so much to do in the country”.
“It’s important to start asking who did what in the country. So you know that we need to take responsibility for what we want for the country on our shoulders. I say this because soon this country will have an election. You will have to choose deputies, senator, governor, president. The question I want to leave you with is the following: would you choose an enemy of yours to be your godfather? Would you choose a person you don’t like to be your daughter’s godmother? When you vote, do you have have to think about it,” he said.
Lula continued: “You will elect someone who will take charge of this country for four years. If you choose well, wonderful. If you choose wrong, you know what it will be like. You cannot run the risk of electing a person who says that whoever takes the vaccine will become gay, a person who makes fun of someone who was short of breath, a person who, instead of encouraging the purchase of a book, encourages the purchase of a gun.”
Lula participated in the delivery of new school buses for the Caminho da Escola Program in Sete Lagoas, in Minas Gerais. During the ceremony, the Minister of Education, Camilo Santana, announced that the program will have a new increase of 14.35% for municipalities across Brazil. The president defended investments in education as necessary for Brazil’s development.
“There is no other way to save Brazil if we don’t invest in education. There is no example in the world of a country that developed without first investing in education. Therefore, for us it is a matter of honor”, he stated.
Senator Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG) was alongside the president, along with several other parliamentarians and local authorities. Lula has been trying to convince the former president of the Senate to be a candidate for the government of Minas.
In his brief speech at the event, Pacheco praised the president. He said he is a “human and extraordinary figure” and the “greatest politician and democrat in our history”.
“I want to say how pleased I am to be able to accompany this human and extraordinary figure today and this politician who is certainly engraved in the history of Brazil as the greatest politician and democrat in our history, President Lula”, he declared.
