Michelle releases video of Nikolas Ferreira after fight with Eduardo Bolsonaro

After a fight on social media between federal deputy Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG) and former deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP), former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro (PL) released a video published by the Minas Gerais parliamentarian. On Saturday (4), Michelle republished on her Instagram profile a comment from Nikolas about a scene from the film The Passion of the Christ, directed by Mel Gibson.

Although the video is unrelated to the Bolsonarists’ discussion, Michelle released it on the same day that Eduardo and Nikolas publicly exchanged attacks. The former first lady and her stepson have also been exchanging hints in recent months.

On April 2, a deputy from Minas Gerais shared a post from the account @NewsLiberdade (447.4 thousand followers) on X, known for promoting virtual audio debate rooms, criticizing President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT).

Eduardo Bolsonaro was upset, since the account administrator, Keven Oliveira, a few days ago declared that he had no intention of voting for his brother, senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), pre-candidate for President in this year’s elections. He also criticized CPAC, an event in the United States at which Eduardo and Flávio spoke last week.

“I reported that Spaces Liberdade will not vote for @FlavioBolsonaro – at least in the first round. Guess who promptly shared the profile on the same day? This is just one of the many coincidences of people calling for unity on the right”, wrote Eduardo, in an indirect message to Nikolas.

Silvio Grimaldo, former editor of the olavista website Brazil Without Fear came to Nikolas’ defense. Referring to Eduardo’s criticism, Grimaldo stated that the publication shared by the Minas Gerais deputy was precisely a criticism of the left – which, therefore, in his view, would not be a problem.

On Saturday, Nikolas responded to Grimaldo’s post with a “kkk”, a laugh on the internet often interpreted as irony.

Eduardo responded with a long text about his rival’s behavior: “Snickering at me, Nikolas? Apparently, there are no limits to your disrespect towards me and my family.”

Flávio Bolsonaro then entered the field to appease the artillery. Just as he had done a few days ago in a virtual room, he asked his allies for “rationality” and defended the union of the PL and the right.

“It is very distressing to see leaders on our side fighting each other while we have a country to rescue. And the enemy is not here, he is on the other side. This is the type of confusion that has no winner. Everyone loses. Everyone has their own reasons, their sorrows, they have the right to defend themselves against what they think is aggression or provocation from the other, that’s great. But everyone has their own time”, declared Flávio. The senator asked to focus on the objective, the October elections, and for allies to forgive each other.

Michelle Bolsonaro and the children of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) have been in a climate of discord since the party’s choice of Flávio to run in this year’s presidential elections, which displeased the former first lady.

Eduardo even stated that the decision did not have to go through Michelle and compared the PL to a military organization.

“In government, it’s like that, everyone gets upset. A party is a hierarchy. There has to be a general, a colonel, and troops down there”, said Eduardo in an interview with UOL at the end of March.

The former first lady defended the name of the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), to contest the Planalto. He will run for re-election to the state government.
