Genial/Quaest: Ciro Gomes and Camilo Santana draw in the 2nd round in Ceará

Senator Camilo Santana (PT) and the former governor of Ceará, Ciro Gomes (PSDB), are technically tied in a possible second round in the dispute to lead the state in 2026. This is what the Genial/Quaest survey, released this Thursday (30), points out.

According to the survey, Santana has 44% of voting intentions, against 39% for Ciro. In a second scenario, in which the PT candidate is Elmano de Freitas (PT), Ciro leads the dispute with 46% compared to 35% for the current governor.

The margin of error is three percentage points, which gives the candidates a technical tie.

The 1st round scenario is also more favorable to the tucano: Ciro Gomes leads with 41% of voting intentions in a dispute against Elmano, with 41%. In the scenario, Eduardo Girão (NOVO) has 4% and Jarir Pereira (PSOL), 1%.

Check it out:

  • Ciro Gomes (PSDB) — 41%
  • Elmano de Freitas (PT) — 32%
  • Eduardo Girão (NEW) — 4%
  • Jarir Pereira (PSOL) — 1%
  • Zé Batista (PSTU) — 0%
  • Undecided — 11%
  • White/Null/Will not vote — 11%

In a scenario against the former Minister of Education, the dispute is more fierce.

Check it out:

  • Camilo Santana (PT) — 40%
  • Ciro Gomes (PSDB) — 33%
  • Eduardo Girão (NEW) — 5%
  • Jarir Pereira (PSOL) — 1%
  • Zé Batista (PSTU) — 1%
  • Undecided — 11%
  • White/Null/Will not vote — 11%

Rejection

The survey also evaluated the rejection of the main names vying for the government of Ceará. The current governor, Elmano de Freitas (PT), leads the ranking with 42%, followed by Roberto Cláudio (União Brasil), with 39%, Camilo Santana (PT), with 34%, Ciro Gomes (PSDB), with 33%, and Eduardo Girão (NOVO), with 29%.

Despite the rejection, Elmano’s government is well evaluated by the people of Ceará. 53% of those interviewed approve of the management in Ceará, while 30% disapprove and 17% did not know or did not want to answer.

To reach this result, the Genial/Quaest survey interviewed 1,002 people in Ceará, between April 24 and 28, 2026. The margin of error is 3 percentage points, plus or minus. The survey is registered with the Superior Electoral Court under number CE-01725/2026.
