Flávio Bolsonaro accuses Moraes of ‘arranging to make Eduardo ineligible’
Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) accused this Friday, 8th, the minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), Alexandre de Moraes, of “arranging” to make his brother, former deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL) ineligible. This week, Eduardo confirmed that he intends to run for the Senate as a substitute for André do Prado (PL), even though he currently lives in the United States.
Flávio stated in an interview with CNN Brazil that Moraes could not act on cases related to Eduardo Bolsonaro, who is living in self-imposed exile in the United States. The senator accused the minister of trying to make his brother’s candidacy politically unfeasible.
Moraes is selected as rapporteur for actions that question the validity of Dosimetry in the STF
The rule provides for the reduction of sentences for those convicted of crimes against the Democratic Rule of Law and directly benefits former president Jair Bolsonaro and the defendants of January 8

Event in Florianópolis will bring together Bolsonaro, Jorginho Mello and Carol De Toni in an offensive to consolidate the right-wing platform in the South
“It is obvious that he could not participate in this articulation, and then he intends to articulate to make Eduardo ineligible. This is bad for Brazilian democracy”, he said.
Eduardo’s eventual candidacy for substitute carries legal risks. This is because the deputy had his mandate revoked due to excessive absences in the Chamber and is still responding to a case in the STF, reported by Moraes, in which he is accused of the crime of coercion in the course of the coup plot process, in which his father, former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL), was convicted.
According to the Attorney General’s Office, he worked in the United States to pressure Brazilian authorities and interfere in the progress of the action against his father. The indictment claims that he sought support from the American government to impose measures such as sanctions and tariffs on Brazil in reaction to the trial.
According to Flávio, the Supreme Court needs to “respect the Constitution again” and criticized Moraes’ actions in processes involving allies of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL).
Campaign in Santa Catarina
In the same interview, Flávio, who is a pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, spoke about his agenda in Santa Catarina this weekend, with an eye on the elections. The senator will go to Florianópolis to participate, on Saturday, the 9th, in the launch of Carlos Bolsonaro’s pre-candidacy for the Senate by the Liberal Party (PL).
Flávio confirmed the formation of the party’s ticket in Santa Catarina, and denied that there is a “split” between the party’s members. The senator said that Santa Catarina governor Jorginho Mello will seek re-election. As for the Senate, Rio councilor Carlos Bolsonaro and federal deputy Carolina de Toni are the pre-candidates.
“There was no division here. From the beginning, our ticket was very well defined with Jorginho Mello in the government, Carlos Bolsonaro and Carolina de Toni in the Senate. We are taking care of each platform very carefully, talking to the leaders not only of the PL in the states and of the allies”, he stated.
The split in the State would have been triggered by his other brother, the former Rio de Janeiro councilor Carlos Bolsonaro, who transferred his electoral domicile to Santa Catarina in order to contest the Senate election, something that part of the Santa Catarina right has not yet swallowed.
The landing of the former Rio councilor in Greater Florianópolis irritated local leaders, such as state deputy Ana Caroline Campagnolo (PL), and almost dismantled the ticket set up in the state: senator Esperidião Amin (PP) was supposed to run with the support of Bolsonaro supporters, and ended up leaving the alliance with the imposition of the Bolsonaro family.
This week, members of the PL-SC stated that Carlos apologized to Campagnolo for exchanging barbs in recent months and defended unity against the left. The deputy should participate in the event on Saturday, according to her team.
