For Zema and Renan Santos, Flávio’s explanations about Vorcaro are not convincing

For Zema and Renan Santos, Flávio's explanations about Vorcaro are not convincing

Pre-candidates for president, Romeu Zema (Novo) and Renan Santos (Missão) once again criticized senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) for his relationship with former banker Daniel Vorcaro, arguing that the explanations about the PL pre-candidate are not convincing. Ronaldo Caiado (PSD) stated that it is necessary for Flávio to be accountable to society, but avoided criticizing the son of former president Jair Bolsonaro.

After the revelation of the audio in which he asks Vorcaro for money to finance a film about his father, Flávio confirmed this Tuesday, the 19th, that he visited the banker at his home in November last year, after Vorcaro’s first arrest.

According to Flávio, the visit was made to “put an end to this story” and if the banker had warned him that the “situation was serious” he would have gone after another investor.

Zema criticized the position after leaving a meeting with businesspeople and supporters in Blumenau (SC).

“What we are seeing once again is a regrettable fact, a very serious fact. And there is no convincing explanation. Having credibility is fundamental to being able to govern a State or Country. I hope that all of this is very well clarified”, he declared to journalists.

He also minimized the repercussions of criticism on local alliances. In Santa Catarina, the Novo directory classified Zema’s first criticism, last week, as “hasty”.

“This is part of politics. Now, no one from Novo was warned that he had contact with Vorcaro. All of us from Novo assumed that this did not exist. If anyone was betrayed in this story, it was the Novo Party”, said Zema.

He also stated that he lives in Belo Horizonte, the same city as Vorcaro, and that he never had a meeting or was approached by the banker. “I don’t have him in my phone book, he never contacted me. It seems to me that hauntings know who to appear to. And he didn’t appear to me”, he continued.

Renan Santos said in a video published on social media that Flávio needs help and is unable to be “a pre-candidate for absolutely anything”.

“Someone needs to pick him up, take him to a clinic,” he said. “If you are over 10 years old, if you no longer believe in the Easter Bunny, you didn’t believe this story. No person in their right mind believes that a person went to another’s house to tell them that they will no longer do business with them”, declared the Missão pre-candidate.

Caiado adopted a different stance from his colleagues and avoided directly criticizing Flávio.

“Anyone who has a problem, whether in the Supreme Court, the Chamber, the Senate, deputy, councilor or mayor, should be held accountable for their problems. It is not up to each pre-candidate to judge people’s value”, he declared at a press conference after an event at the Associação Paulista de Supermercados (Apas) in São Paulo (SP).
