Two helicopters collided in mid-flight and three people died in the United States
Two helicopters flying near a small airport southwest of Portland, Oregon, collided and three people died, local authorities reported.
Yamhill County Sheriff Sam Elliott explained in a press conference that the collision occurred around 2:15 p.m. (local time) on Thursday, near the McMinnville Municipal Airport, southeast of McMinnville.
The three people who died were aboard the two helicopters. They are a flight instructor from Texas, a British student pilot, and a pilot from Newberg, Oregon.
The aircraft involved were a Robinson R22, with a pilot on board, and an Airbus H125, which was transporting two people, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will investigate the collision to determine the cause of the accident.
