A doctor who led the UN in the crises of Covid and Ebola

The Briton survived an attack on the UN headquarters in Baghdad, Iraq in 2003. At the time, 22 people died and dozens were injured. “We found first aid kits, took bandages and turned people aside. We were working as in a mist, with moans and shouts everywhere,” he said later.

Nabarro leaves his wife, five children and seven grandchildren.
