Act in Paulista against Congress, Tarcísio and Trump brings together 15 thousand, says USP

Social movements linked to fronts without fear and popular Brazil, the PT and parliamentarians such as federal deputy Guilherme Boulos (PSOL-SP) brought together about 15,000 people on Paulista Avenue, in São Paulo, on Thursday night (10), according to the USP’s digital political debate monitor.

The act sought to pressure Congress to approve income tax reform and reduce working hours.

With the slogan “Enemy Congress of the People”, the demonstration combined criticism of the economic agenda waged in the legislature with the defense of national sovereignty, reinforced after the announcement of the 50% tariff imposed by the United States on Brazilian products.

Posters with phrases such as “Trump Enemy of the People” and “Respect Brazil” dominated the protest, in a direct response to the position of the president and Lula’s firm reaction on social networks.

The call was turbocharged by digital left profile campaigns, with pieces produced using artificial intelligence and wide X -repercussion (former Twitter). The theme “Respects Brazil” was one of the most mentioned on the platform on Wednesday, after Lula claims that the country “will not accept being protected by anyone”.

According to the organizers, the focus now is to strengthen the pressure on the House of Representatives and the Senate, given the resistance of leaders of the center to guide topics such as the taxation of the super rich, the exemption of IR for those who earn up to $ 5,000 and the revision of the 6 × 1 journey.

Previous acts

The demonstration represented a leap in the mobilization of the left in 2025. On March 30, protest against amnesty to the scammers of January 8 gathered 6,600 people; On November 15, 2024, an act for the end of the 6 × 1 scale took 4,700 people to the street, according to the same count system.

In the opposite field, right -wing manifestations have alternating greater volume of audience. On April 6, protest in favor of the amnesty gathered 44,900 people in Sao Paulo. The act of June 29, with the participation of Silas Malafaia and Jair Bolsonaro, had an estimated audience of 12,400 people.

How the USP count

The number of 15,100 protesters was estimated with the use of Point to Point Network software, developed in China and presented at the International Conference on Computer Vision of 2021. The system analyzes high -resolution drones -made aerial images and identifies the presence of people based on “points” marking.

The accuracy is 72.9%, with an error margin of 12% to more or less. At the time of Thursday, Each/USP researchers analyzed 30 images taken between 5:40 pm and 8:10 pm. The peak was recorded at 7:30 pm, based on five photos.

With the margin of error applied, the actual number of participants may have varied between 13,300 and 16,900.
