Alckmin: Haddad is a person dedicated to serving SP as a great governor
Vice President Geraldo Alckmin stated this Thursday, 19th, that the Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, is a “person dedicated to serving” and that “few people are so prepared” to govern São Paulo.
Haddad will be a candidate for the São Paulo government this year. The announcement is being made this Thursday, 19th. Alckmin said that the Minister of Finance “will win this election”.
Lula suggests that Alckmin talk to Haddad to decide whether to run for the Senate
‘I don’t know if Geraldo will be a candidate for the Senate, okay? The vice position is open to him, but you have to assess what is good in São Paulo to help you,’ Lula told Haddad
Lula: To my delight, Haddad nominated himself to be governor of SP
Lula said he had spoken to the minister that “the political situation in the world is so serious” that not taking action could mean handing over the country to what he called “fascists”.
“Count on us, Haddad, on this civic journey. Few people are so prepared. A professor, great Minister of Education, like Camilo Santana, mayor of one of the largest cities in the world, which is this metropolis, like São Paulo, Minister of Finance, who carried out the dreamed tax reform, which will boost our economy”, stated the vice-president.
The vice president was willing to help the PT member in the campaign in São Paulo. Alckmin was governor of São Paulo for four terms. He is the politician who has held the position for the longest time in history.
“Count on us, Haddad, to cover the geography of São Paulo, from the coast to the banks of the Paraná River, from the Rio Grande to the Paranapiacaba River, listening to the people, the criticisms, suggestions, proposals”, said Alckmin.
“Haddad will present the best platform, the best program for us to get out of this inertia today in São Paulo, for a great humanist development project, with soul, with feeling and benefit for our population”, he added.
Alckmin participates in the announcement of the candidacy of the Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, for the government of São Paulo. In addition to the two, president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), PT president, Edinho Silva, and the president of the PT state directory, deputy Kiko Celeguim, participate in the ceremony, held at the ABC Metalworkers Union, in São Bernardo do Campo (SP).
Haddad was convinced by Lula to run for governor of São Paulo, after the minister conveyed his desire to lead the PT member’s campaign for re-election. The president wants to have a strong platform in São Paulo because he understands that it is necessary to win votes in the largest electoral college in the country to be able to defeat his main opponent, senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ).
