Ambulance plane collides with houses in Kenya and leaves at least 6 dead
At the scene of the accident, there were only fragments scattered from the aircraft and houses completely destroyed by the impact, found an AFP team.
The plane, which had departed from a small airport in downtown Nairóbi, was destined for Hargeisa, in the Somali separatist region called Somalilándia, Ambulance Company AMREF Flying Doctors, owner of the aircraft, said in a statement.
“We are cooperating with the aeronautical authorities and emergency teams to investigate the facts,” he added in the statement Stephen Gitau, director of the company.
“I lost everything,” he reported among tears Margaret Wairimu, whose house was completely destroyed by fire. “But, thank God, my children were not around,” he added.
