Anvisa prohibits the sale of smart clock that promises to measure glucose

The marketing of the smart clock Glycowatch, which promises to control diabetes and blood pressure, was banned by Anvisa. The decision, made on Monday (4), also prohibits the distribution, import, advertising and the use of the accessory.

The product was being sold on online sales platforms. According to Anvisa, these smartwatch models have not yet been proven through clinical studies and investigations.

Anvisa’s justification is that using this technology can bring risks to the health of people who need to monitor their level of glucose daily, as their results are not yet scientifically confirmed.
