At an event with Flávio, Nunes says that Jair Bolsonaro 'has a difficult temper'

The mayor of São Paulo, Ricardo Nunes (MBD), stated that Jair Bolsonaro “has a difficult temper” during a tribute attended by the former president’s son, Flávio Bolsonaro (PL), this Friday (27), in São Paulo. The statement was made during a tribute to the PL’s national president, Valdemar Costa Neto, in the state’s Legislative Assembly.

— You know, Flávio Bolsonaro, Valdemar loves his father. In truth. And your father is someone we consider and like a lot. But he has a difficult temper. And in that situation (in 2024), when we were there building our candidacy for re-election (for mayor), we had something very clear, because the PT came with the PSOL, with everyone together, and they were putting together candidacies not to win the election, but to beat us. They put together candidacies, because the guy who is now working there in the federal government (in reference to the then candidate Guilherme Boulos), was not supposed to win the election, he was supposed to beat us — said Nunes.

The tribute at Alesp served to present the Collar of Honor to Merit, the highest honor from the São Paulo Legislature, to Valdemar. It also included governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicanos-SP) and municipal, state and federal parliamentarians. As soon as the first speakers took over the microphone, the tone of the presentation became one of exaltation of Flávio’s likely presidential candidacy.

— I wanted to congratulate our senators, and I will do so in the person of our senator, future president of the Republic, Flávio Bolsonaro. Thank you very much for your presence. We had an excellent chat about Brazil this morning — said Tarcísio, referring to a meeting they both had earlier, at Palácio dos Bandeirantes.

Throughout his speech, Nunes also praised Flávio’s electoral efforts:

— And today we woke up to good news. There are two numbers today in the survey. Who is in first place? — asks Nunes, pointing to Flávio and referring to research circulating in Bolsonar circles.

All the other speakers in the morning also praised the PL senator from RJ. When Flávio took the stand, before thanking Valdemar, the pre-candidate for Planalto asked for a minute of silence for the victims of the rain in Minas Gerais and then thanked the women present, mentioning some of them.

— We always have an obligation to try to do the right thing and do it well, to think about how we solve people’s problems. So, President Valdemar, what I have been saying, and you are the symbolism, the personification of this, we will solve Brazil’s problems together and through politics. Without shame in defending what we believe in. And what is the responsibility? Once again, together with each one of you here, we face the most important moment of our lives for the next 40, 50 years – said the senator.
