Audios show Mario Frias thanking Vorcaro for supporting “Dark Horse”, says website

Messages and audios published on the website The Intercept Brazilthis Tuesday (19), show that federal deputy Mario Frias (PL-SP) maintained direct contact with former banker Daniel Vorcaro during the production of “Dark Horse”, a film about the political trajectory of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL).

Executive producer of the film, Frias appears thanking the founder of Banco Master for supporting the project in conversations held in December 2024.

“I just want to thank you, my brother. We’re going to touch the hearts of a lot of people and it’s going to be very important for our country,” said the deputy in one of the audios released by the portal.

According to the Interceptthe message was sent on December 11, shortly after the time at which a meeting between Vorcaro and senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) was scheduled to take place, although the meeting was not confirmed.

In the conversation, Vorcaro replied that he would return later. “I’m on a call and I’ll call you later”, wrote the businessman. Frias replied: “Blz”. According to the report, the two spoke on the phone for about two minutes that day.

The deputy returned to look for Vorcaro days later. On December 15, according to the website, Frias sent the businessman a screenshot with messages exchanged with director Cyrus Nowrasteh, responsible for the film.

He then wrote: “Read this. Miracles are only possible when there is faith. It will be the biggest superproduction in Brazilian history.”

In a new conversation, on December 22, Vorcaro informed the parliamentarian that he was at church and would return later.

“Brother, this film is the great miracle, it will be able to touch the hearts of millions of people around the world”, replied Frias.

The deputy also wrote that the film would have “an essential historical role for future generations” and stated that “JB (Jair Bolsonaro) needs to have his true story revealed”.

Change of speech

The messages were released after Mario Frias changed the version presented about the film’s financing.

After the publication of the audios between Flávio Bolsonaro and Vorcaro, the deputy initially stated that the former banker had not put “a single cent” into the production.

The following day, he retreated and said there was a “difference of interpretation regarding the formal origin” of the resources.

“When I previously stated that there is not ‘a penny from Master’ in the film, I was referring to the fact that Daniel Vorcaro is not and has never been a signatory to a legal relationship, just as Banco Master has never appeared as an investing company”, he declared.

According to the InterceptVorcaro committed to investing up to R$134 million in “Dark Horse”. The website states that R$61 million was paid between February and May 2025.

Flávio Bolsonaro confirmed that he sought private investment for the project, but denies irregularities.
