Bear kills 89 -year -old man and his dog in an unprecedented attack in Florida, USA

An 89 -year -old man and his dog were attacked to death by a black bear in Jerome, Collier County in the first fatal attack of a black bear in the history of the state of Florida in the United States.

What happened

Family members warned authorities that Robert Markel was missing. They reported about the disappearance, also said that the elderly had been presenting unusual agitation that could have been caused by the fear of one or more bears surrounding their home, reports Fox News report.

On Monday (5), the County Police notified an environmental control agency. Police officers informed Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) about a likely bear attack after finding the remains of a man about 100 meters from Markel’s house, along with evidence of a “physical clash” between a bear and one person.
