Bolsonaro again alleges persecution and says the PF investigation is a “little story”
The former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) classified, this Saturday (23), as a “little story” the investigation by the Federal Police (PF) investigating an alleged attempted coup d’état in Brazil.
The PF indicted Bolsonaro and former members of his government for the crimes of violent abolition of the Democratic Rule of Law, coup d’état and criminal organization. The former president alleges “persecution”.
“I don’t believe this scam story. No one even saw a soldier on the street, no one being arrested, nothing. Obviously, Alexandre de Moraes (minister of the Federal Supreme Court) inventing narratives, with its very creative Federal Police”, said Bolsonaro in a conversation with supporters, in Alagoas.
Moraes denies returning cell phone to priest indicted by PF coup attempt
The device has been in possession of the Federal Police (PF) since February, when priest José Eduardo de Oliveira e Silva, from Osasco (SP), was one of the targets of Operation Tempus Veritatis
The former president also stated that there are “fusses” about the information already identified by the respondent. “Go plant potatoes. For the love of God, stop wanting to persecute people out of personal interest,” he said.
The investigation began last year and concluded two days after the PF arrested four military personnel and a federal police officer accused of trying to assassinate the president. Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT)the vice president Geraldo Alckmin (PSB) and Minister Alexandre de Moraes, from the STF.
