Bolsonaro: “Discussing a plan to kill someone? This never happened”
The former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL)one of the 37 indicted by the Federal Police (PF) in the investigation investigating an alleged attempted coup d’état in Brazil, once again denied that he had planned to prevent the president’s inauguration Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT).
In an interview with the magazine LookBolsonaro also denied any involvement in an alleged plan to assassinate Lula, the vice president Geraldo Alckmin (PSB) and the minister Alexandre de Moraesof the Federal Supreme Court (STF).
The hypothetical planning of the crime was revealed by the PF as part of Operation Contragolpe, launched last Tuesday (19), which culminated in the arrest of four military personnel and a federal police officer.

“This, obviously, goes to the Attorney General’s Office. It is in the PGR that the fight begins. I can’t expect anything from a team that uses creativity to denounce me”, said the former president
“At the Presidency, there were more or less 3 thousand people in that building. If a guy comes up with some kind of business, what do I have to do with it? Discuss with me a plan to kill someone? This never happened”, assured Bolsonaro.
According to the former president, he would never endorse any coup d’état plan in the country.
“I would never agree to any plan to carry out a coup. When they spoke to me, it was always to use the state of siege, something constitutional, which would depend on the approval of Congress”, he stated.
Bolsonaro was indicted by the PF for the crimes of violent abolition of the Democratic Rule of Law, coup d’état and criminal organization.

The indictment, by the Federal Police (PF), for involvement in an alleged plot to promote a coup d’état in Brazil was not the first of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL); remember previous cases
Also indicted were generals Augusto Heleno, former minister of the Institutional Security Office (GSI); and Walter Braga Netto, former Minister of the Civil House and Defense and candidate for Vice President of the Republic in the 2022 elections.
Among the 37 indicted are federal deputy Alexandre Ramagem (PL-RJ), former head of the Brazilian Intelligence Agency (Abin) in the Bolsonaro government, and Valdemar Costa Neto, national president of PL, the party of the former president of the Republic .
The PF’s final report has more than 800 pages. The document was finalized on Thursday afternoon (21) and forwarded to the STF.
Minister Alexandre de Moraes, from the Supreme Court, must share the report with the Attorney General’s Office (PGR). It will be up to the PGR, Paulo Gonet, to decide whether or not to present a complaint against those being investigated. The head of the Federal Public Ministry (MPF) may also request new measures.
