Bolsonaro insists on trial by the STF plenary
Former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) wants to be tried by the plenary of the Supreme Court (STF), instead of the first class of the Court. The appeal was presented on Monday, 10.
He appeals as a decision that denied, at the end of last month, requests to declare the ministers Flávio Dino and Cristiano Zanin prevented to judge the report of the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) about the coup plot, in which Bolsonaro and 33 people are implicated.

Michelle also said that her decision is backed by the Bible and prefers to maintain distance from the councilman so that no disagreement occurs.
The plenary, in which the former president wants to be tried, is formed by the 11 court ministers, including André Mendonça and Nunes Marques, appointed during his government. Already the first class has the ministers Cristiano Zanin, Carmen Lúcia, Luiz Fux, Alexandre de Moraes and Flávio Dino.

The first request was denied by the president of the Supreme Court, Luís Roberto Barroso, who understood that Bolsonaro’s defense arguments would not justify a legal impediment against Dino and Zanin.
Among the defense’s allegations were a criminal complaint of Flávio Dino against Bolsonaro when he was Minister of Justice and Public Security, in the early months of the government of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT).
Against Zanin, lawyers argue that the minister was a lawyer for Lula’s campaign and filed a lawsuit against Bolsonaro’s plate in the 2022 elections.
TERM FOR BRAGA NETTO
Also on Monday, the PGR sent to the Supreme Court an opinion against the extension of the deadline for manifestation of the defense of General Walter Braga Netto, which is also among those reported by the attempted coup.
The defense claims that he had not had access to the full Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid, former Bolsonaro orders, and asks to present his demonstration after the defense of Cid.
Minister Alexandre de Moraes, rapporteur of the case, had already denied the expansion of the deadline. In the opinion, the attorney general, Paulo Gonet, defended the maintenance of Moraes decisions and said that the extension of the deadline is not provided for by law.
Despite contesting the deadline, the defense of Braga Netto has already sent its STF demonstration, in which it states that the complaint is “fanciful”.
The general has been pre -imprisoned since December last year, accused of obstructing Federal Police (PF) investigations on the case. According to PF report, he would have acted “in order to control the information provided and change the reality of the facts calculated, as well as consolidating the alignment of versions among the investigated.”
