Bolsonaro is stable and has improved kidney function, says hospital
Former president Jair Bolsonaro remains hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit of the DF Star hospital, in Brasília, being treated for bilateral bacterial pneumonia caused by an episode of bronchoaspiration, according to a medical bulletin released this Sunday (15).
According to the hospital, Bolsonaro showed clinical stability and improved kidney function. The bulletin also reports, however, a new increase in inflammatory markers in the blood.
Due to these changes, the medical team decided to expand antibiotic coverage. Bolsonaro remains on intensive clinical support, with reinforcement of respiratory and motor physiotherapy.
According to DF Star, there is no forecast for discharge from the ICU at this time.
According to Flávio Bolsonaro, his father’s defense is awaiting a new medical report before requesting the conversion of the former president’s sentence, convicted of an attempted coup d’état, into house arrest.
