Brazil and 19 other countries meet the creation of the Palestinian State
Chancellor Mauro Vieira attended this Sunday (25) in a meeting in Spain with representatives from another 19 countries to discuss the creation of the State of Palestine. The meeting takes place in Madrid, supported by the Spanish government, and is part of a diplomatic effort to expand the international recognition of Palestine.
What happened
According to Spain Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares Bueno, host of the meeting, the goal of the meeting is to boost the solution of two states and seek concrete advances to end the war in Gaza, described as “inhuman and cruel.” For Madrid, Palestinians and Israelis are entitled to live side by side in peace and security, with the formal creation of the Palestinian State as an essential stage in this process.
This Sunday, Itamaraty published on social networks a record of the meeting between Chancellor Mauro Vieira and Palestinian Prime Minister, Mohammad Mustafa. Last week, in a speech at the United Nations Security Council, Mauro Vieira stated that the recognition of Palestine is “imperative” for regional stability.
