Brazil opened 300 markets for agricultural products in 2 years, says Carlos Fávaro
The Minister of Agriculture, Carlos Fávaro (PSD)announced this Tuesday (24) that Brazil reached the milestone of 300 new international markets opened for agricultural products in less than two years.
“Today we celebrate a historic achievement for the Brazilian agricultural sector”, stated the minister, in a statement, highlighting the impact on the generation of jobs and opportunities in the production chain.
The balance released by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock shows that there were 222 market openings in 2024 alone, with 62 new destinations incorporated into the export agenda since January 2023.

The text provides for the production, import, export, registration, commercialization, use, inspection and supervision of bioinputs
The strategy included the expansion of the network of representatives abroad, which gained 11 new agricultural attaché posts, reaching 40 professionals.
The country expanded its export range beyond traditional meats and grains, including products such as embryos, sesame seeds, fresh grapes, yerba mate, sorghum, açaí powder, seeds, pecans and animal recycling by-products.
For 2025, the government plans to intensify trade promotion actions together with ApexBrasil and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“We will further reinforce trade promotion actions so that all the opportunities that are being generated can be implemented,” stated Mapa’s Secretary of Commerce and International Relations, Luís Rua, also in a statement.
