Total firepower in the air
For the Global Fire Power international website, the Brazilian air fleet (FAB, Army and Combined Navy) is the 22nd most powerful in the world in 2025, with 513 aircraft – 333 of them ready for combat. The ranking ranks, from the largest to the smallest, the total force of the aircraft fleet from 145 countries. Among the aircraft considered in the count are fighters and bombers, as well as training and load aircraft.
Brazil has the most powerful air fleet in Latin America in both rankings – far. In WDMMA, the Latin country best placed in the ranking after Brazilians is Chile, in 37th place. Already at Global Fire Power, Colombia is the nearest neighbor, in 27th position. Among the Brazilian aircraft listed in the latter are: 43 fighters, 38 attack planes and 191 helicopters, among others. However, the lack of tanker planes and attack helicopters overthrow the country’s performance in the evaluation of the site.
