Brazilian in the Ukraine army asks for help to leave the country
Paraná’s goal was to serve as a drone operator in the conflict. “This has always been my intention: help, but technically. But since I got here, everything has changed. They are slowly pushing me into infantry functions and now they have sent me to Kharkiv, a region of intense military combat. They said it is training, but I don’t believe it anymore,” he said in an Instagram Stories video in recent days.
Lucas’s situation in the country changed after the end of his basic training. He was transferred to the third assault brigade, where he thought he would take the course to specialize in the drone operation. However, he was informed that he could not take the course because, in his contract, was his designation as a member of the infantry.
The Brazilian complained to the superiors that this was not the combined for his coming to the country, but was not attended. “They told me ‘no, you go (to Kharkiv) because otherwise it will be worse.’
Lucas now asks for help because he can’t leave the country. He signed a contract that obliges him to serve for at least six months in Ukraine. According to the international legion itself, this contract lasts three years and may be automatically extended, but Lucas could terminate it after the initial period of six months if it is not in the middle of a combat mission.

Given the approaches of bomber places and fearing being captured by the Russians, the Paraná soldier said he contacted the Brazilian Embassy in Ukraine. However, he would have been informed by the Brazilian authorities that, in this case, could not intervene and he would have to address his superiors.
