The US Chamber of Commerce itself and the American Chamber of Commerce in Brazil had already published a joint manifestation on July 15, asking for high level engagement of the two governments to prevent tariff implementation.

Government admitted to depending on US business community
With no open channel with the White House to try to negotiate the figure or postponement of the rate, which should take effect on August 1, the Brazilian government has admitted behind the scenes that it depends on the weight of American GDP to try to sensitize Trump.
They were present to meet the senators at the US Chamber of Commerce Executives of the oil and Exxon Mobil, the pharmaceuticals Merck, Gilead Sciences and Johnson & Johnson, agrochemicals such as Dow and Cargill, Caterpillar Agricultural Maquymário, the Siderúrgica Novelis (which buys Aluminum from Brazil), IBM and Transporte Technology, DHL.
