BRICS partnership continues to evolve, taking advantage of opportunities, says Galipolo

Central Bank President Gabriel Galipolo said on Saturday, 5, that the partnership between the BRICS countries remains evolving, amid the commitment to deepen cooperation in strategic areas to the economy of member countries.
“When we get together in this vibrant and culturally rich city, we are remembered of the force that comes from diversity. BRICS’s partnership continues to evolve, facing new challenges and taking advantage of opportunities with a clear and pragmatic vision. This meeting reflects our continuous commitment to deepen cooperation in areas that are fundamental to the stability and resilience of our economies,” said the BC President, at the opening of the ministers’ meeting and Presidents of Brics Central Banks in Rio de Janeiro.
Galipolo made a special greeting to his Indonesian colleagues, who first participated in the forum. “Your presence highlights the growing importance of BRICS. We are confident that your contributions will add great value to our discussions,” said the Brazilian.
This Saturday’s meeting provided discussions about the evolution of the contingency reserve agreement, payment systems, cyber security and sustainable finance.
“These are timely and essential themes to ensure that our financial systems are strong, inclusive and prepared for the future,” he said.
