Caiado demands explanations from Flávio about Vorcaro, but defends right-wing unity
Presidential candidate Ronaldo Caiado (PSD) entered the debate on the audios involving senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) and banker Daniel Vorcaro, but avoided expanding the conflict within the conservative camp.
In a statement published on social media this Wednesday (13), the former governor of Goiás stated that the son of former president Jair Bolsonaro “needs to explain himself” about the negotiations to finance the film Dark Horse, a production that portrays the political trajectory of the former chief executive.
Despite public demands, Caiado signaled concern about the political effects of the episode on the opposition to the Lula government.
According to him, the focus of the right must remain concentrated on the 2026 presidential contest and on maintaining a unified front against the PT.
“It is necessary to ensure that the Brazilian center-right does not divide”, stated the pre-candidate.
Compliance Zero: Defense of Vorcaro’s father says arrest is ‘unnecessary’
According to the defense, the “ideal” would be for Mendonça to “listen to the explanations” before ordering Henrique’s arrest
Vorcaro would have used his father’s account to send R$2.2 billion from Master, says PF
The name of Henrique Vorcaro, arrested this morning, was mentioned when the third phase of Operation Compliance Zero was opened in March, leading to the former banker’s second arrest
The speech occurs at a time when allies of Bolsonarism are trying to contain the damage caused by the dissemination of messages and audios obtained by the Intercept Brazil.
According to the report, Daniel Vorcaro, founder of Banco Master, had committed to investing around R$134 million at the price at the time to finance the production of the feature film about Jair Bolsonaro. Part of the resources would have been released between February and May 2025.
The materials released show Flávio Bolsonaro demanding late payments related to the film. The senator confirmed the authenticity of the contacts with Vorcaro, but denied irregularities.
According to Flávio, the conversations dealt exclusively with private sponsorship for a private production and did not involve political counterparts or personal advantages.
