Câmara approves proposal to overthrow Lula government decree that increased the IOF
The House of Representatives voted in favor of a Legislative Decree (PLD) bill to revoke the last government decree that changed the Financial Operations Tax (IOF), on Wednesday (25).
The measure, published on June 11, was the Lula’s third attempt to readjust the tribute in less than a month after strong criticism of economic and Congress sectors.

As mentioned during the House session, the last president to have a decree revoked by the House of Representatives was Fernando Collor de Mello in 1992. In Collor’s case, the revocation also took place in the Federal Senate.
Earlier, amid guidance on the application, the union leader in the House, Pedro Lucas Fernandes (MA), came out in defense of the mayor, Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB), “summoned session since last week” on the subject, which “was discussed by two meetings” at the College of Leaders.
“No one hides here. We’re here to vote,” said Pedro Lucas. There was no date for the House to analyze the PDL. The theme was put on the agenda by Motta on the night of Wednesday, 24, and announced at X at 11:55 pm.
